Introduction:
In last years we have been observing an increase of both urologists’
and patients’ interest in plastic surgery of the penis. Such procedures performed in
male older than 40 years require diligent postoperative rehabilitation programs in
order to achieve best possible result and to enable the patient to restore his sexual
activity. In this film as an example we are presenting the treatment of patient with
Peyronie disease.
Methods:
The rehabilitation program starts 7 days after the operation. First,
tadalafil 10 mg three times a week is im-plemented to enforce spontaneous and
provoked erections. Then, patient is in-structed how to make self- injection of
papaverine into cavernous bodies three times a week. Starting on the 14th day we
recommend to use an extension device like Andropenis which is self-retainable
and easy to be covered under clothes.Next step is to use the vacuum device,
every day for 10 min.
Results:
Strict and persistence treatment enables patient to restore sexual potential
even in far from perfect odds.
Conclusion:
In conclusion we want toemphasis that postoperative rehabilitation
is a crucial element of the surgical treament of penile deviation
